Register through Central Entry Gate
As a manufacturer or an importer, you must submit the registration digitally through the joint EU-system, Central Entry Gate, no later than six months before marketing.
You cannot get access to the system until you have been assigned a so-called submitter-ID.
Apply for a submitter-ID
On the EU Commission webpage, you can find an instruction of how to apply for a submitter-ID. You shall use the submitter-ID to get access to the joint EU-system (Central Entry Gate).
As a manufacturer or an importer you can report in two different ways – either as "System-to-system" or through "Standalone Client". You have to select one of the two options in the field "Intended submission tool".
”System-to-System” means that you construct a system so that your own production system or the like can provide data for the reporting directly to the EU-CEG system.
It is quite demanding to establish. You can therefore get more information by contacting the Commission support function on the email address: SANTE-EU-CEG@ec.europa.eu
“Standalone Client” means that you want to use a computer programme for the reporting.
The programme can work on more computer platforms and has extra features so that you can save and re-use information, etc. If you choose this solution, you must also state your ECAS user name. The user name is created on this page.

Registration with the Danish Safety Technology Authority
When you have created the registration in the Central Entry Gate, the Danish Safety Technology Authority assesses whether you must pay a fee for the registration. If the registration demands a fee, you will receive a request for payment.
The fee must be paid to the Danish Safety Technology Authority, before the registration is considered active. As a rule, you must pay a fee for registration of all electronic cigarettes and refill containers with and without nicotine.
When the fee has been paid, the Danish Safety Technology Authority will review the content of the registration and check if all information has been filled in correctly.
If there are flaws and deficiencies in the registration, you will receive a request for additional information.
Otherwise, the Danish Safety Technology Authority forwards a letter stating that the registration has been completed and the product can be market legally in Denmark.
In some cases, the Danish Safety Technology Authority will forward a rejection of the registration stating that the registered product cannot be marketed in Denmark.

Remember to register changes of products
In case of a significant change of a product, which has already been registered, you must make a new registration. This applies e.g. if the e-liquids or the electronic function per se have been changed.
Minor changes on existing products can be updated in the system.
Marketing of multiple products in a single package
Products can be marketed in a single package without further notification in the EUCEG to the Danish Safety Technology Authority. To marked in single package, you have to comply to:
- The individual products appear unambiguously from the list of notified products
- The individual products can be identified unambiguously without breaking the packaging
- The individual products must comply with the labeling requirements
The products may be electronic cigarettes and refill containers as defined in the Act on Electronic cigarettes § 2 No. 1 and 2.
